Use these steps:
Click Setup to expand and set up the self-extracting .zip.
When the extract is complete, the Welcome to the XAware Setup Wizard screen displays.
Click Next to continue.
The license agreement acceptance screen displays. Be sure to read the license before agreeing!
If you accept the agreement, select the I accept ... option and click Next to continue.
The Select Destination Directory screen displays asking where XAware should be installed.
Accept the default directory, or click Browse to navigate and select your own. Click Next to continue.
The Installation Configurations screen displays to let you choose your installation configuration. The options are described here:
Typical - includes XAware Designer and Tomcat 6.0 with the xaware.war pre-deployed.
XAware Designer only - includes Eclipse 3.2 and WTP 1.5.4 with XAware's Designer plug-in (no server deployment).
XAware all-in-one with JBoss - includes Designer and JBoss 4.2.2 with the xaware.ear pre-deployed. You'll be asked if you need a JDK (be sure JAVA_HOME is defined).
Manually choose components - allows you to choose the installation options you want, including:
XAware EAR to run XAware services on an application server.
XAware WAR to run in a servlet container with JTA.
XAware WAR with JTA stub to run in a servlet container without JTA.
JAVA 5 JDK.
Client libraries to embed or run XAware from a command line.
XAware home to set up the directory structure and supporting files for an XAware installation.
Step-by-step custom installation which walks you through a series of questions to help you select the components you need.
Make the selection that is appropriate to your environment (use the More info links to read additional information) and click Next.
The Selected Components screen displays the list of component to be installed. You can make additional changes here, if necessary.
When your installation configuration looks correct, click Next.
Using the Windows installer, the Select Start Menu screen displays to let you select a Start Menu in which to create the shortcuts.
Make the appropriate selections and click Next.
During the installation, you'll be directed to a page that displays information that will help you get started with the XAware community, including tutorials, blogs, wikis and more, and help you find additional plug-ins, as necessary.
When the installation is complete, you'll be offered the option to launch XAware Designer if you select that component. Click Finish.
